    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2019/feb/11/germs-are-not-real-fox-news-host-pete-hegseth

"Germs are not a real thing': Fox News host says he hasn't washed hands in 10 years.
Pete Hegseth denies existence of germs, saying: ‘I can’t see them,
    therefore they’re not real’"

"Fox has form, however, when it comes to denying scientific fact just
because it is not immediately observable. Analysis by the progressive
watchdog Media Matters for America found that Fox News hosts
tend to discuss climate change when the weather is particularly cold,
seeking to cast doubt over accepted science regarding rising global temperatures."

Yes - I saw this on BBC today and was going to post.

It's funny, sad and worrying when the people delivering the news are so ignorant.

    "... he hasn't washed hands in 10 years. "

I sure don't want to shake his hand.

I think they know exactly what they are doing. I don't think it is ignorance. It is a deliberate tactic to pander to the Trump base.

    https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/shortcuts/2019/feb/12/hands-hadnt-washed-10-years-peter-hegseth

"What would be on your hands if you hadn’t washed them for 10 years?"

"“Hands are the most important vector of infectious diseases,” says Professor Val Curtis
of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, who lists salmonella,
E coli and norovirus among the germs that “hitchhike on hands”."

"Certainly the World Health Organization does not believe that hands are self-cleaning.
It has invested heavily in hand hygiene with a global handwashing day and multiple
campaigns aimed at educating people that handwashing is a matter of life and death."

Presumably he bathes occasionally, so that would count as hand washing wouldn't it?

How many people in 'the Trump base' don't wash their hands?
